TAG, I'm it!

I have been meaning to post this forever because seriously I just got so behind in my blogging with all the stuff I have been up to . . . but . . . I was tagged by not one, but three lovely stamping friends (Thanks Lauri, Tara, and Terri)

So, here goes -- 7 random things about me:

1) I am a Canadian citizen living in the USA.
2) I am highly (I break out in hives) allergic to dust mites (which is why it makes total sense that I live in the desert - NOT! -- actually, there are supposedly less mites here)
3) I have my ears pierced
4) I prefer brads over eyelets but if I must use eyelets, I try to only use SU ones because they are softer and easier to open
5) My most used stamp tool is my monoadhesive, followed closely by my paper cutter and white gelly roll pen *grins*
6) I have two drawers full of stuff "to be altered" but I have yet to do it. I am such a hoarder. My goal is to use up most of that by the time I move.
7) I drive a silver Honda Odyssey, but I have a secret crush on old VW bugs. That would be my dream car -- a fully restored VW bug in the color of my choice (probably black). Now I just need to find someone who knows how to work on cars to restore one for me.

I was wondering when you were going to post this, but I know just how busy you've been. I visit daily to catch up. :) Where in Canada are your from? I'm in BC. Are you moving back or to somewhere with lest dust? BTW, I love Grey's too! I aggree with not wanting to see Addison's show with our Grey's. I was so totally going to watch her show anyway...how could we not? However, I do like Callie and always think back to what her daddy said about not hurting her little girl. She may be tough and all that on the outside but I think she's real vulnerable inside and needs George to open her up. I love the BF ship between George and Izzy and would hope that Izzy finds someone who is a big hearted as she is, maybe McVet? I'd like to see him back! Anyhow, I'll stop typing......Have a great night!

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

A good mail day

Yesterday was an awesome mail day! I got my swaps from Jody (texasjodylynn). Let me explain, each month, Jody and I swap three things -- cards, 3D objects (usually), and sometimes goodies we find that we think the other person might like. We have done this for about 6 months I think. Well yesterday I got the most amazing Jody package. Here are a few pictures of the stuff inside. The chocolate box was made with designer paper and said "You make life sweet" on top and inside there were some yummy dove chocolates. Seriously, dark chocolate is the BEST! Next I found this most gorgeous purse with some treasures inside it. Some gems and some princess brads, and a harry potter bookmark. The purse itself is amazing. I asked Jody how she did it and she said with chalk and craft inks and lots of embossing powder. It just shines. It is just so amazing. She put in so many brads and she said she even had to use a drill on it. Amazing! I avoid scary tools like drills wher...
