Amuseapalooza - Challenge 2

So I decided to take part in the Amuse challenges even though I don't have any Amuse stamps as of yet . . . (I ordered some from my friend Jody and she said they are hopefully going postal today -- she got them in yesterday). Anyway, I really liked the idea of trying to stamp without using black ink. SO, I got to work and these are the pretties I came up with.

This first one is done using SU's Polka Dots and Petals. I had seen lots of cards doing acetate overlays (I think it was a challenge last week to use acetate on your cards -- for splitcoast), so I decided to try it. I used my white craft ink to stamp assorted flowers on the acetate. (This took forever to dry -- in fact, they are still not completely dry -- think I will use my white staz on next time). The background layer is stamped in pink passion, pretty in pink, cameo coral and timber brown staz on. The sheet of acetate is held on with those chocolate brown brads, by All My Memories. The sentiment is by Stampendous and I stamped it on the background layer and was just careful not to stamp over it when I was stamping on the acetate sheet. Very busy but I think it turned out cute.

The second card uses my favorite flower stamp by Impress. I absolutely love this little flower. The colors were inkspired by the gem stones. I got the pack of gem stones from Target, and the colors inside were a blue, green and orange. I thought, why not? So, I used only orange, ballet blue, and certainly celery. I am pleased with the color choices on this -- they are so NOT me, but they turned out bright and cheery and cute. The ribbon matches almost exactly, even though it looks a lot darker in the picture. I stamped "Hi" from a stamp that said "Hi There" from SU's Fancy Flexible Phrases. As a final touch, I pierced around the orange flowers. I think it added a little something something. Even though I used no Amuse stamps on these, I will upload my link to them anyway.

Happy Thursday everyone. Brown (UPS) should be bringing me some new goodies today and tonight is a brand new episode of Grey's Anatomy - so life is good! Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
