Manda's Mailbox Monday - Gorgeous Papertrey RAKS!

Hooray, I love it when my mailbox over flow-eth . . . I have been so spoiled by fellow bloggers and friends! It is just so fun to get mail. I really need to start sending out more Random Acts of Kindness (RAK's). I think that will be on my to do list for the week. I will plan to send out one a day. It sure does brighten my day to receive them.

This first card is a pretty Papertrey butterfly one. I am such a sucker for butterflies and it is just too cute. The background is cuttlebugged, I think, using a swirl background. Thank you so much for this RAK Heather S in Hyde Park, UT -- it was really sweet of you to think of me. Like what you see? Check out Heather's blog. It is just too cute and I just love all her work! Oh and her kids are too freaking adorable!!!

The second RAK I got in the mail was one from Lori T in Gaithersburg, MD -- she sent me a gorgeous polished stone/alcohol ink looking card using the Papertrey butterflies set. It was SO super hard to get a good picture of, so I hope you will forgive me for my weak attempt to show off your gorgeous work, but I truly love it and appreciate you taking the time to send it to me. It made me smile!!! Lori was one of my prize winners not so long ago and she sent this gorgeous card to thank me for her prize. Lori has a blog also, you can check it out and leave her some blog love -- I bet she'd love that: Inking Aloud.

Thank you so much to my sweet blogger RAK group friends who share their beautiful work with me. I hope you all have a splendid week. I am off to get some laundry done and catch up on some neglected chores . . . it's spring cleaning time again *sigh*

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Hey guys! Happy 2010! I was so not ready for vacation to be done when I had to send my kids back to school yesterday! *sad face* We had such a fantastic break! Guess what though? (SSD014) - Ear Infections and Pneumonia

I apologize for my late posting today . . . the countdown to being 40 weeks preggo continues.  This week has been crazy out of control already, and it's only Tuesday!  YIKES!   Friday night Baby E was running a fever and really congested.  We gave him tylenol/motrin, but he would not take in fluids, and I was worried about him, so I slept on he floor beside his bed (stupid thing to do at 39 weeks pregnant).  Anyway, I cried a bit, and when I woke up in the morning, I had the most intense pain in my right ear ever!  Seriously OW!   Saturday, Mic took the baby to the pediatrician, where he was diagnosed with double ear infections, and pneumonia -- he had a breathing treatment there, and an antibiotic shot . . . and his lungs were sounding much more clear when he left.  Late Saturday night his fever broke, much to our relief.   Sunday was an okay day, mostly we just all rested -- an interesting thought occurred to me while I was on th...
