HANNA STAMPS - Hospital (A Bookmark Card)

As promised, here is my color inkspiration card. Sorry it took forever for me to make it back here to post, but I enjoyed a fun weekend. We got to go picnic in the park, and I had a fabulous mommy/daughter date with my sweet girl to see the Hannah Montana movie and then built a cute lamb at Build a Bear.

One thing I learned during my most recent stays in the hospital, is that there are mean nurses (*ahem, nurses who don't care -- it is just a job), okay nurses and every so often you will find a WONDERFUL nurse. These are the ones who don't make you feel like a sick person, who treat you with respect and do their job while making every effort to maintain your dignity. They will go out of their way to make your stay better. These are the kind of nurses, who after your stay, deserve a note of appreciation. That is what inkspired this card.

I used the Hanna Stamps Hospital set to create a book mark card (for those long nights when the good nurse you send it to is stuck on her shift, reading to keep busy).

The card itself is simple. I used the colors from my Thursday color inkspiration challenge for this: taken with teal, green galore, soft sky and always artichoke (in the background paper) and I threw in some chocolate chip too!

Stamps: Hospital (Hanna Stamps), Mega Mixed Messages (Papertrey Ink) Paper: Taken With Teal (SU!), Green Galore (SU!), Soft Sky (SU!), Solar White Classic Crest (Neenah), Periphery: Vineyard (Basic Grey) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: brown brads (Heidi Swapp - Grunge), Dark chocolate 5/8 Swiss Dot Satin (Papertrey Ink), green paper flowers (Prima Marketing Inc.), Copic ciao markers (Imagination International Inc.), clear embossing powder (SU!), sewing machine (Singer), brown thread (Sulky), magnetic canvas (1" squares) (Darice).

This is gorgeous! Love the paper and the flowers are such a nice touch.
Love your card. And it is so sweet of you to show appreciation to your nurse. I worked in hospitals for nearly 30 years and I don't ever remember getting a card, she will appreciate it. Of course, I worked in the lab so I had to hurt(needles-ack!!) almost everybody I came into contact with!

What a sweet and nice person you are. I know that she will appreciate it and think of you when she has to save a place in her book. I'm going to have to look for that set.

You are so right Amanda - nurses have such a hard and important job and there just aren't enough great nurses out there, and we are SO grateful for the ones who are! I am sure she will love the beautiful card you created for her - it is really a work of art.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...
