HANNA STAMPS - Rock Star Hanna

Do you have this cute set yet??? I sure hope so!!! If not, head over to Hanna Stamps and get your order in right away! Tell 'em Manda sent you!!! I had some fun playing with this set last night. While I was at my fave local scrap store (LSS), I found some fun papers with rock star themes. The inkspired me totally! I used the layout from Our Creative Corner for the first one I did. Her hair, guitar and boots all have crystal accents on them to make them plastic looking. Her skirt is colored with black spica pen.

Stamps: Rock Star Hanna (Hanna Stamps), Mega Mixed Messages (Papertrey Ink) Paper: Jammin' - Moxxie Mix 'Em Ups (Moxxie), Basic Black (SU!), Solar White Classic Crest (Neenah) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine (Tsukineko) Accessories: Copic ciao markers (Imagination International Inc.), crystal gemstones (Swarovski), Scalloped and plain circle nestabilities (Spellbinders), clear embossing powder (SU!), Sewing machine (Singer), white thread (Sulky), Copic Atyou Spica- Black (Too Marker Products Inc.), Glossy Accents (Ranger), black brads (Heidi Swapp - Retro)

The second card is a simple layout, nothing fancy. I wanted to use Rock Star Hanna in an oval. The shiny stars are just some Mrs. Grossmans stickers that I picked up at JoAnn's. They are totally BLINGARIFIC! Hope you all know how much you rock for checking out my cards and for all your awesome comments! I *heart* ya!

Stamps: Rock Star Hanna (Hanna Stamps), Handwritten Notes (Papertrey Ink) Paper: So Saffron (SU!), Basic Black (SU!), Solar White Classic Crest (Neenah), Fiddlers 3 - Old King Cole Collection (Piggy Tales) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine (Tsukineko) Accessories: Scalloped and plain oval nestabilities (Spellbinders), Glittery Star Stickers (Mrs. Grossmans), Copic ciao markers (Imagination International Inc.), clear embossing powder (SU!), Copic Atyou Spica - Clear (Too Marker Products Inc.), White Inkssentials Gel Pen (Ranger), orange brads (The Paper Studio- Hobby Lobby)

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

A good mail day

Yesterday was an awesome mail day! I got my swaps from Jody (texasjodylynn). Let me explain, each month, Jody and I swap three things -- cards, 3D objects (usually), and sometimes goodies we find that we think the other person might like. We have done this for about 6 months I think. Well yesterday I got the most amazing Jody package. Here are a few pictures of the stuff inside. The chocolate box was made with designer paper and said "You make life sweet" on top and inside there were some yummy dove chocolates. Seriously, dark chocolate is the BEST! Next I found this most gorgeous purse with some treasures inside it. Some gems and some princess brads, and a harry potter bookmark. The purse itself is amazing. I asked Jody how she did it and she said with chalk and craft inks and lots of embossing powder. It just shines. It is just so amazing. She put in so many brads and she said she even had to use a drill on it. Amazing! I avoid scary tools like drills wher...
