Hanna Challenge and a BONUS

Here is my card for Bev's Hanna Stamps Sketch Challenge. I used "But I Need It" -- I seriously LOVE this set. Maybe it is because I relate. But, our girl Hanna is generous and this card says "for you" because all those bags she has this time are for a dear friend of hers. Awww, what a sweetie! Don't worry, she had LOTS of fun shopping for it all! *giggles* Especially those shoes!!!

The size of the card is 4.25 x 4.25. I wanted to make a bright card, because if you have been following my blog recently, you'll know, I am totally stuck on the bold brights. This color combination reminded me of watermelon. Mmmm. I love summer. It better get here in a hurry too because I am sick of being sick! And I am in AZ, so I know people in other places across the country are even colder and, as hard as it is for me to imagine, probably even more sick . . . of winter!

Stamps: But I Need It - Hanna Stamps Paper: Whisper White, Green Galore, Pink Passion Ink: Memories Black Dye Ink, Green Galore, Pink Passion, Creamy Caramel Accessories: Black dotted organdy, prismacolor pencils (for outlining), black gelly roll, aquapainter, singer sewing machine and pink thread.

So as I was cleaning off my desktop on my laptop (trust me, it totally needed to be done), I found this Hanna card which I don't think I had posted yet. We'll say it came from the Hanna Archives *giggles* - I am sad I forgot to post it! I think it turned out well. Anyway, hope you like it!

Image was colored using prismacolors and gamsol. Ribbons are both from my stash -- pink shimmery organdy and pale purple polka dotted organdy. She has a little swarovski crystal at her waistline, like a belt or something. Her slippers are glittered up with stickles. I absolutely love that sentiment! How seriously true! Take yesterday for an example, I vacuumed my staircases and spent much of the day cleaning and then I had to stay up till like 2 am to get any stamping done and now today I am just pooped. I need to pack for our vacation now though, and clean up the mess my kids already made this morning -- stickers on the coffee table, papers all over the living room and breakfast mess -- *sigh* It never ends! Hope you have a Happy Easter weekend and hopefully I will see you back on my site after the holidays!!!

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
