Bloggers Challenge Week 37

I have seriously felt awful lately for slacking so bad on this group. I was sick and then life was just getting in the way of my stamping -- but I did do the challenge for this week and since today is still Friday, I did it on time *smiles*

I did not really branch out too far -- well, I did, but trust me, after the first card I tried in a circle made it into the trash bin, I decided to try a square. We were supposed to make a card any shape besides a rectangle. I made a square -- but for me that is WAY different because I usually stick to normal card size . . . I like how it turned out even too! My card is 4.25 x 4.25 so it will still fit in a normal card size envelope.

Hope you will take the time to check out some of the other cards that the girls in the bloggers challenge group have done. They are super awesome this week. Their links are on the right hand side and there are lots of them . . . so get busy . . .

Stamps: Sentiment by River City Rubber Works, Chicks from Eggstra Special Easter by My Favorite Things. Paper: Pale plum, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, DCWV designer paper. Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Timber Brown Staz On, Pink Passion (from the lid of the ink pad to color the chicks) Accessories: Singer sewing machine, silver brads, Marvy Uchida Scallop Punches in Mega and Giga, Purple gingham ribbon.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
