Very Cherry Cupcakes

I have been sick, (awful cold and cough and I am still coughing but it seems to be getting better) and trying to catch up and last week it seemed like we had play dates out the wazoo, which I totally needed to do because my kids needed out of the house, but I am feeling so behind on my stamping.

I did manage to complete some swaps that have to be postmarked this week (for the 1st Official MFT Swap), last night, so that is something at least. I fully intend to photograph those tonight and post them soon. Anyway, today after church J wanted me to make cupcakes, and since I haven't done any in a long time, I made some. I iced them with just an icing knife (sweet and simple) and added a cherry on top! The recipe made nice light and fluffy cupcakes but I would have liked a little more cherry flavor and I think I would add some cherries into the batter next time too! M took a picture of me while I was baking . . . *giggles*

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
