E's First Movie - "Copper" by Diane M. Dresback (Day 1)

The other day one of my friends posted a casting call on her Facebook, and they were looking for a little girl 6-9 years old, blonde, brunette, or red head. I debated taking E, and in the end, decided, what the heck . . . why not. If nothing else it would be a fun night out together. The part was for a short film (only a 15 or so page script).

Last Monday night, we drove downtown Phoenix, and E auditioned. I felt nervous because we had never done anything like this before, and because lots of the girls who were there seemed older than E and also more experienced. Still, we were there, so we just stayed. E was really excited. She did okay in her reading of the lines -- but apparently she did better than I imagined because she got the part. She practiced her lines throughout the week, and then today, my cute hubby took her to film her first scene.

Here she is practicing her lines before her scene was shot. I am so thankful that she can read because I think that really helped her to be able to suceed with this opportunity.

Here are a couple more shots while filming the first scene she is in . . .

E and the camera

I think she had lots of fun! She got home kind of late and was pretty tired when she got home. I think she learned some things too. I am glad she is participating in this project. Only a couple more scenes for her to have shot -- one tomorrow and one Monday . . .

I'm so proud of her! And seriously, it's been a year since Baby E was born? I still can't get over that.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

HANNA PREVIEW: Vintage Toys & A Color Challenge For YOU

This set is a lot of fun! It has SO many possibilities -- birthdays, Christmas, new baby . . . AWESOME! I made a couple cards to show you with it. The first one uses the adorable bear in it. I instantly thought of a baby card when I saw this guy (who knows why I have babies - specifically baby boys on the brain - only 11 weeks left *giggles*). I used a sketch from Limelight Papercrafts (Sketch #4) to create the layout of this card! Both of these two cards also work perfectly for today's challenge on Hanna Stamps (Create a card or item using 2 or more embellishments). This card uses ribbon, sewing machine stitching and buttons. Stamps : Vintage Toys (Hanna Stamps), Karen Foster Design Snap Stamps (Small Casual) Paper : Lily Kate (Basic Grey), Bashful Blue (SU!), Certainly Celery (SU!), Whisper White (SU!), Neenah Solar White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine, Colorbox Pigment Brush Pad - Frost White Accessories : clear embossing powder, white gel pen, copic markers, white bu...
