CC149 and SC159 - Hanna Sweeps

It has been a long time since I have done a double challenge. I really like the colors this week for the challenge and knew I would use them. I discovered that they go rather nicely with Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl paper, so if you have some of that on hand, you have some quick matching designer paper. I hope you have visited Hanna Stamps design team blogs recently and met the adorable Riley Moose! If not, what are you waiting for.

Did you get the Hanna Celebration Set this month? I sure hope so, and hopefully you are already creating wonderful spunky cards with it, and kissing up a storm with those adorable lip prints . . . Hanna is back with her long hair again and ready to clean house. You are so in for a treat with this set . . . I love it! It is perfect to send to a girlfriend because only they relate to how much we hate housework *grins* This set will be released sometime soon, so keep watching the Hanna Stamps site!

Sentiment is by River City Rubber Works. I ordered a few sentiments recently from them - I love how humorous they are -- so if you have not checked them out yet, go do so. I paper pieced the vacuum using apricot appeal paper.

Stamps: Hanna Housekeeping Set, River City Rubber Works sentiment Paper: Rose Red, Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal, Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl, Very Vanilla Ink: Timber Brown Staz On, Sage Shadow, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Aquapainter, sponges, swirly chocolate ribbon, apricot grosgrain, singer sewing machine, sage thread, SU corner punch

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
