Hey Girlfriend . . . SC159, WT149

Okay, have you ever had one of those days when things are just not quite working out on every card you make. Well today is that day for me.

This is about version three of this card for WT149 . . . I kept smudging when I was coloring, messing up color wise, basically not being able to stamp well. EEEK! Anyway, this color combination idea came from a card I saw on AJ's (willosmama) blog. These colors do actually match - the silver is hard to see mixed in on the blue, but it makes it a lot lighter looking in real life. . . I embossed clear over black staz on in the background, and then I alcohol inked over top with denim and silver mixative. Sentiment is by My Sentiments Exactly. I punched it out using my SU word window punch. Oh and you might recognize the layout -- it is from the card sketch from yesterday.

Stamps: Hanna But I Need It, Sentiment by My Sentiments Exactly Paper: Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Sierra Sand Ink: Staz On Black, Bashful Blue Accessories: Silver Brads, Tim Holtz alcohol inks - Denim, Tim Holtz Mixative Silver, Aquapainter, Applicator tool, silver leafing pen, black polka dot ribbon, black gelly roll, prismacolor pencils and gamsol

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
