Grey's Anatomy/Stuck on Valentines

I love Grey's. I am seriously passionate about this show. Sure I watch other shows (The Nine, Desperate Housewives - okay, only shows on ABC apparently) but Grey's is my thing. So imagine my RAGE this morning when I looked to see if tonight was a new episode with high hopes that it would be, to see that it is not! *pouts* I guess I have to wait a whole week . . .

Why oh why must they torture me like this????

So, instead of Grey's, I am going to work on my Valentines for the swap I joined. All the people in my group are amazing stampers and I really want my work to not be substandard, so I have to try really really hard on these. I am trying out a bunch of designs and will see which one I like best and then mass produce it.

This card is one that I made today. I used the new "free" set from SU! on it. I had to try it out. I found this great paper at HL and thought it would work fun with the paisley stamp in black, and I think it did. I had a little trouble determining a layout that would work . . . but all in all I think this one does fine. It is also the sketch challenge from yesterday!

Amanda,

I am a HUGE Grey's fan too. I heard that it wasn't going to be on last night and was disappointed as well. I guess there is a new episode on next Thurs. the 11th. I can't wait.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
