WSC88 -- Thinking of You

If you are following me on facebook, you will know that last night I was coloring this Tilda to use today. Well, this morning I got some time to stamp (M had to go to a Precinct Committee Training Meeting and then a baptism after mowing the lawn so he was clearly too busy to care what I was up to).

I created this card in a square format like the sketch, which was weird for me because I usually don't really like squares. It measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, which is the size that I happened to have envelopes to fit. I have really missed stamping and I am having a lot of time rediscovering my hobby. Hope you like what I came up with!

Stamps
: Tilda with Basket (Magnolia), Thinking of You (Hero Arts) Paper: Summer Sun (SU!), Wild Wasabi (Retired SU!), Basic Black (SU!), Solar White Classic Crest (Neenah), Sunflowers (Pinecone Press Papers) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: Paper Flowers (Prima Marketing), Copic Ciao Markers (Imagination International Inc.), Clear embossing powder (SU!), white button brads (Making Memories), black gingham ribbon (SU!), assorted colored brads from my stash (Unknown Makers), Sewing Machine (Singer), white thread (Sulky), scalloped scissors (Provocraft)

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
