Sundress and Corker Bow (I *heart* SUMMER)

So last night my sweet husband was super tired and went to bed as soon as we had the kids in bed, but I was not tired yet. I mulled for awhile over what I should do (aka, played FARKLE on Facebook - darn addictive game), and then I thought I would work on this dress I told E that I would make for her.

I started working on it last night and finished it this morning. The directions are from a Martha Stewart show I had DVR'd and watched about a week ago. LINK HERE! The dress was so simple and though it is not PERFECT because it was my first one, it looks well done.
Then I remembered these cute curly bows I had seen. I have one for E from Gymboree for the 4th o July. Anyway, I decided to try and make one. I looked on line and found out they are called Korker bows and also found these directions. Anyway, just thought I would share!

What projects have you been up to so far this summer??? Hope you're having fun! I need to get crackin' on some stuff I wanted to make before July 4th, and I have a birthday party coming up in the next couple weeks that I need to figure out some activites for. Happy SUMMER! (Okay, well it is HOT here, so it counts as summer for us).

This is darling. I love the hair bow. Wish I'd known how to make these when DD was little.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
