CHA - Craft & Hobby Association Convention 2009

My very first CHA was a fabulous experience. I had lots of fun just spending a day browsing around. Such beautiful EYE CANDY! I totally want to go again next year. I made lots of stops along my way while browsing and managed to remember to take a couple pictures along the way. Hopefully I credited the right company in each of these pictures.

A Visit to *Wooky Entertainment*

Here is me and the new baby meeting Paris Hilton. I got her to write her autograph to the baby. She was actually quite pleasant and kind and thought it was funny how the baby kept turning his head toward the camera flashes. I think we only waited in line a little over an hour and were about 12th or so in line. The security was really tight and it was kind of crazy. I had to go visit and meet her because it is pretty much a once in a lifetime experience -- I mean how often is Paris in the same venue as you???

Love the crop-o-dile? If so, you will SO totally want one of these. This awesome tool was a corner rounder. Worked awesome on chipboard and allows you to make your own coasters, books, etc. I fell in love!!! Add this one to your gotta haves.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...

ALMOST TO 50K

EDITED TO ADD: I go by my first name, not my middle. My first name is Amanda. *smiles* Also, I am going to keep this post bumped up to the top so people can find it, but I will be posting more, so please take a moment to scroll down to find the latest stuff -- this will stay up until 50K is reached. *************************** I am so amazed that so many people have been interested in little old stamping me. Okay, well, not me actually, probably mostly my work, but either way, I'm SUPER FLATTERED! I appreciate all the comments you leave me. They really do validate me and make me feel like I should keep on going with this blog. You all ROCK! So, I have decided to do a small giveaway to show my appreciation to you. I will have two separate contests. Both of these contests will win you blog candy (yummy embellishments, and other such fun stuff). The first one is to guess my middle name. You can post your guess as a comment to this post and then I will do a drawing of every...
