Sketch Challenge 194 - Potluck Dinner Invitations

A month or so ago, a friend of mine had a potluck gathering in her home, and since then we have been trying to get another one together. This time we will be having it at my home, so I took some time today to come up with an invite using the sketch challenge on SCS. I think it turned out cute and was super easy to do.

I think I am going to assign each invitee a category, such as salad, dessert, side, drinks, etc. and then take care of the main hot dish here are my house. Do you think that sounds like a good plan? That way, I know each of those will be taken care of and won't have to stress about it. How long do you think an event like this should go on for? We will be doing it Saturday afternoon/evening and there are going to be lots of kids there, so maybe for 2 hours -- max 3 hours. Should I put this on the invites, or just the start time? HELP!!!

Stamps: Kiss the Cook (Hanna Stamps), SU Paper: Prism Papers - Baby Blue Dark, Neenah Solar White, Frances Meyer - Blue School Skirt Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, tempting turquoise classic ink (SU!) Accessories: Clear embossing powder, sewing machine, white thread, white heart shaped brads, SU oval punch (large size), copic markers sponge.

What a great card... perfect for potluck invitations. I think assigning the food is a great idea, that way you're not stuck with all the same food types, like your main dish and then all the rest bringing only desserts... hey wait.. maybe THAT wouldn't be so bad :>) LOL I have no idea if you should put the ending time on there as well. Hope you have a great time!

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...

Okay, well, not me actually, probably mostly my work, but either way, I'm SUPER FLATTERED! I appreciate all the comments you leave me. They really do validate me and make me feel like I should keep on going with this blog. You all ROCK! So, I have decided to do a small giveaway to show my appreciation to you. I will have two separate contests. Both of these contests will win you blog candy (yummy embellishments, and other such fun stuff). The first one is to guess my middle name. You can post your guess as a comment to this post and then I will do a drawing of every...
