Since the design team was issued this challenge earlier -- here is my card for the challenge. It uses one of the new Hanna sets available this Thursday night at midnight -- Garden. I am just loving all the new Hanna's and pairing them with PRISM papers has been fun! Prism papers are just wonderful! I love how they are textured on one side and flat on the other. I saw a sample of their paper in a recent magazine I purchased and it is seriously amazing (coming from a former SU! only girl on card stock).

I sponged the edges of my white primas to create a different look using pretty in pink ink and a little blush blossom ink. In the center of the flowers are some of the gorgeous sparkly brads that I picked up at Hobby Lobby the other day -- they are so shimmery and pretty and I just had to have them. You can see better detail of them in the close up shot. I laid the oval on an angle (saw this in a sketch challenge once and thought I would use the idea here). I pierced the edges and used my white gelly roll pen around the piercings. I machined sewed the edges of the card. Sentiment comes from a Papertrey Ink set -- I really love how you can bend acrylic -- I did that with this sentiment to make it fit the slope of the oval better and I think it looks just right. Layout was inspired by SC173 on Splitcoaststampers.

Hope you will take some time and participate in this challenge. It is a random drawing from the entries, so you don't have to feel overwhelmed by other people who are participating whom you may deem more talented than you! I think it is super fair this way and fun for all.

Stamps: Garden (Hanna Stamps), Little Lady (Papertrey Ink) Paper: SU Whisper White, Prism Crab Apple Light, Vibrant Teal and Rose Dark Ink: Memories Black Dye Ink, Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom Accessories: Prima Flowers (Assorted Styles, Sizes and Colors), black brad, shimmery white brads (Hobby Lobby), Nestabilities Oval Set, CuttleBug, Silver Prismacolor Pencil, White gelly roll pen, Singer Sewing Machine and white thread, White sheer dotted organdy ribbon.

Hi Amanda ~

Visiting here from SCS! I don't have any Hanna stamps (yet) but I loved looking at your samples. I love the girlie girl stamps! And your wheelbarrow of flowers looks pretty enough to pick from! Thanks for sharing!

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...

My first name is Amanda. *smiles* Also, I am going to keep this post bumped up to the top so people can find it, but I will be posting more, so please take a moment to scroll down to find the latest stuff -- this will stay up until 50K is reached. *************************** I am so amazed that so many people have been interested in little old stamping me. Okay, well, not me actually, probably mostly my work, but either way, I'm SUPER FLATTERED! I appreciate all the comments you leave me. They really do validate me and make me feel like I should keep on going with this blog. You all ROCK! So, I have decided to do a small giveaway to show my appreciation to you. I will have two separate contests. Both of these contests will win you blog candy (yummy embellishments, and other such fun stuff). The first one is to guess my middle name. You can post your guess as a comment to this post and then I will do a drawing of every...
