Swooshing By

How did it get to be Friday and where did the month of January go, that is what I want to know . . . Seriously it seems like it has just zoomed by. I must be getting old. I have been working on some stuff, but I cannot post them yet. Also, E's birthday is tomorrow, so I need to clean and bake some cupcakes (watch for those to be posted on this blog) -- oh and did I mention that it is Superbowl Sunday this weekend? We will be watching it here at home, but it has been interesting living in the valley with it here. I drove in that area yesterday and there was so much traffic and we got to see the GOODYEAR blimp - pretty fun! I was actually on my way to Hobby Lobby -- hadn't been there in awhile so that was fun!!!

Oh and the new Hanna Stamps set - Domestic Goddess - is available on the site now . . . so if you want it -- go get it! It is totally cute, I have another card to show you that I made with it -- but I will get to that later today!

So this post is a post to brag about how adorable my sister is. She is talented too! Seriously!!! I am really excited for her -- her voice is really taking off -- voice lessons really do pay off. This is her singing "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie at college in Canada. Tell me what you think?

She is really talented! I've done a lot of community musical theater in Canada and any cast would be lucky to have her star in their production. She's great and pretty too! Thanks for sharing!

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
