Just For Fun and SOME GOOD NEWS

I found this on Lauren M's blog -- and thought I would try it. But then I thought about it and decided I had to enter two names because my name is technically Amanda but I often go by Mandy or Manda, so -- those of you who know me, you decide:

What Mandy Means

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.

You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.

You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.

You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.

People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.

You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.

You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

In hindsight, they both are VERY similar -- so I guess I am just me, and honestly, I think it is quite accurate. I *might* be a bit stubborn *giggles*

The good news of today is that my son is officially potty trained. On our trip to California and Disney, we had no accidents -- DS wore undies the whole trip! It feels so good to be done with diapers -- well at least until/if or when we get pregnant and have more . . . YAY!

QUESTION FOR ALL YOU READERS: We are working on figuring out a family reunion and I would like to know where you have had yours in the past, what are your favorite family reunion memories and what you like to do at a reunion?? Hoping you all have answers that will help me out! Thanks in advance for your input!

My husband has 5 brothers and sisters and they're all in different states - so every 2 years someone hosts the reunion and picks a place. We've gone camping in Colorado, stayed in a ski resort in Pennsylvania (cheap in the summer), rented a cabin in Branson, MO (a great place because of all the fun things to do), rented beach houses in Galveston, Tx, and most recently, took over a Bed and Breakfast in Taos, New Mexico. The host makes little gift packages for everyone (maybe a hat or t-shirt with the family name) meal assignments and lets everyone know what activities are available. I've loved them all, but really, we've learned that it's not so important to have lots of activities - we just enjoy being with each other. Have a great time.

my husbands family has a huge one in california because 80% of them live there. each year it is hosted by a different son/daughters family. everyone brings either a salad, desert and pay a certain amount toward meat.

every 5 or 10 years we plan a big one coming up we will be doing a cruise

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
