Manda's Mailbox Monday - A Unique Card

I got this great tri-fold card in the mail this week from Debbi Rippentrop! Thanks Debbi so much for the RAK! It really did put a smile on my face and I just love what you did with the resist and the glossy paper and the faux stitching -- WOW! What a great card!!!

I am so glad that I joined the splitcoast blogger RAK club. Seriously, if you are a blogger and you have not joined it, go check it out -- link is on my sidebar. It makes it not so annoying to check my mail and just see bills, junk, junk, junk, bill . . . and then a card -- it always makes me eager to open it and see who sent it! I truly treasure this wonderful mail!!!

I also got another wonderful package from my favorite dirty dozen girl - Jody . . . (texasjodylynn) but it was something she posted on splitcoaststampers for the dirty dozen gallery showcase -- so I cannot post it here -- but it was AWESOME and if you want to see it, all you have to do is contribute to SCS and you will gain access to the gallery! Hope you do!

I have had my request in to join the RAK club for almost 2 weeks now and I haven't heard a thing. I am getting antsy to start sending RAKS and, of course, receiving them. I was told to not send another request. This is through splitcoast--is your blogger RAK something different? Love reading your blog.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
