House Warming????

So my house has been officially broken in . . . while BIL & SIL were here, they brought their little not so potty trained puppy and he peed and pooped a couple times on the new carpet. I had been doing so well with keeping my puppy from going on it too . . . *sigh* Then J and his cousin decided to color on the walls in blue crayon and pencil. So my living room/dining room now has those all over it.

Today was a rough day! My sweet children decided to color on my upstairs hallway walls with black sharpie, and my DD decided to tell me that her brother did it. Her brother was the only one to get in trouble because I did not notice until I was doing the primer that DD wrote her name on one of the chairs so basically I knew she lied to me at that moment and my heart sank. It is the first time she has ever lied to me *cries*

The primer seemed to cover it well. Now I just need to get a small roller to put the paint over top of it again . . . . hopefully it turns out well.

{{{{hugs}}}} So sorry you are having a rough day! The silver lining is that the house is finally "broken in" and anything and everything from here on out is downhill. Just like that first ding on your car is the worst. *sigh* I know, none of that is helpful, sorry. It is good that you took pictures so you can hang that over their heads later on.

This probably wouldn't have saved the walls, but when my 4-year-old drew all over the coffee table and end table with a black Sharpie marker, my MIL told us to try the cleaner we use for our flat-top stove, and it worked perfectly -- didn't leave any trace at all. Just something to keep in mind. Sorry about the walls!!

OMG so sorry...but your house is now officially a home..I guess they wanted to leave their mark. Good thing for paint. Hope the suggestion for the sharpie works. Hugs, Chris

Magic eraser would not work on the flat paint, also, the house is brand new so the walls have not had time to "cure" yet . . . so primer and repainting was pretty close to the only option.

well they say it comes in threes so from here on in you should have clear sailing. Take those pictures and scrapbook them hun cause someday they will be 'memory treasures'

The color is called Practical Beige and it is from Sherwin Williams, however, at Home Depot they carry a Behr paint color called Toasted Wheat (it was in my other house and is pretty close to the same color) in case you wanted to try that.

Well, I feel as if I am sitting here with a halo over my head held up by my devil's horns. :) But, now I know what to send you for Christmas and I guarentee this stuff works at least for the problem I left behind. Now you will get to find out if the walls need to be completely repainted as the contractor said. And finally, Sharper would like to know if you got a photo release signed in order to show his particular picture.

That is such a bummer! But if it makes you feel any better, it could be a sign of an artistic nature (I was an awful home-vandal as a kid and now I love art.) Looks like your creative genes got passed on. Maybe she'll find a more acceptable canvas, but keep the playfulness. :0) Mel

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus).
