Manda's Mailbox Monday

Sorry I am so late in posting this today . . . I am dealing with carpet guys coming in, and cabinetry guys and door guys and sometime soon, paint guys -- basically, we are trying to get all the stuff done on this house that was supposed to be fixed or done at the year mark. Can you say HECTIC??? I almost have all the furniture moved back in my bedroom now though, and then I need to put away laundry, clean up and pick up the house and the kids want to go to the library today . . . PHEW! I am exhausted just thinking about it.

It was a slow mail week for me . . . apart from a Paper Wishes catalog, I got one RAK card that is just SO pretty. I hope you will like it as much as I do. It is from Jill (CTRMom3 on splitcoast) and it really brightened my week. I was doing a lot of mailing out last week, and running around trying to get stuff done and it was super awesome to have this beauty in my mailbox. Thanks Jill!

I love the sentiment Jill used on this card (so much I own it already) and I love that Jill used Primas on this card -- that is a huge sacrifice right there to be able to part with a card with primas. The big brads are really fun and I like the strip of designer paper she added across . . . I just love all the funky patterns and the colors on this card were so pretty! Basically I am trying to say . . . I love it and will treasure it! Thank you again Jill!

FOR LINDA & MARIE: The sentiment stamp is by Delta Rubber Stampede (3774C - Be the Change) -- I think I bought mine at Michaels -- but if not there - it was Jo Ann's! HTH!

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
