Tea Anyone??? (for Embellish-Online)

I am not a HUGE tea drinker, but from time to time, I really need a cup of tea. It calms the soul. It settles my tummy sometimes while I am pregnant.

I came up with the idea to make a tea box, and at first I was thinking larger scale, like to hold a lot of tea, but then I came across this metal gift card tin from Lowes in my alterables stash, and I thought it looked about the right size to hold tea bags, so I tried it and it worked, fit perfectly, and this project was born.

I was thinking you could keep this in your purse and always have tea at the ready for those *stressful* moments when you need it!

I used some more of my Basic Grey Lemonade papers and jounaling cards with transperancies(Basic Grey), which you can purchase over at Embellish-Online. The ribbon I found which just happened to match perfectly, was from Basic Grey Lily Kate collection, which apparently has some similar colors.

Stamps: Tea For Two (Papertrey Ink) Paper: Lemonade (Basic Grey) Ink: Onyx Black versafine (Tsukineko), Wild Wasabi Classic Ink (SU!) Accessories: Lily Kate ribbons (Basic Grey), New Leaf Vintage Buttons (Papertrey Ink), Take Note - Journaling Cards with Transperancies (Basic Grey), sewing machine (Singer), white thread (Sulky)

Hi! I love your tea holder. I need one for myself! The saying on the top - is it the Take Note JOurnaling cards with transparencies? I have never used them and probably never paid attention to them. I love what it says. The Altoid tins aren't always big enough and I had forgotten about the Lowe's tin I had in my stash too! Thanks for sharing!

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
