All I Want For Christmas . . .

Okay, so it is not MY two front teeth, but speaking of teeth, my sweet little girl E lost her first tooth today. It was one of her front ones at the bottom. It had been loose for about a week and when she was brushing her teeth, it just popped out. She was so excited because she knew it was coming. Her new tooth is already there starting to come up. We forgot to put the old one under her pillow tonight -- she fell asleep already, so tomorrow we will and see if the tooth fairy comes -- which reminds me . . . what is the going rate for teeth? HELP!

Yea for E!!! Troy just lost his first tooth about 2 weeks ago. The Tooth Fairy gave him 4 quarters for his tooth. No way was the TF going to pay more than that for the tooth of a 5 y/o! BTW, I'm amazed her tooth was only loose for a week. Troy's two lower front teeth have been loose since June. The dentist said it could be awhile before they came out, boy was he right. The second one is still just slightly loose so who knows how long that one will take. His adult tooth is coming in also. So cute!! :D

The tooth fairy would bring our kids $1 per tooth :)

I'm a good ways away from that stage. but being practical and knowing the state the economy is in, I'd go with a quarter. I know... I'm a scrooge.
How totally sweet! I love the look on her face!

It's too bad...you don't have "Loonies" there. Maybe the Grandma Tooth Fairy can send one your way.
Going rate in our household is a crisp $1 bill. When my son told me others get $5 from the tooth fair, I just about fell off my chair. I remember getting quarters!

Congratulations on Ethan! I love the name. Hmm, I got quarters from the tooth fairy. My nephews get $1 these days, although I've also heard $5 is the going rate. (It's NY.) Does the tooth fairy adjust for Canadian dollars? ;)

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
