Another Hanna Stamps card and another Pasta Salad Recipe

It's getting warmer here and it has been awhile since I have posted a recipe for you to try -- so I thought I would do that today . . . I have been trying to cook the same things on the same days of the week in order to save more money for stamps, etc. SO, I have kind of let what's for dinner Wednesdays go to the wind . . . but I think I am going to start doing "What's For Dinner Weekends" and post a weekend recipe for you to try. I often have the most time to play and experiment with food on the weekend, and I bet it is the same for you! Let me know what you think of this new idea.

This recipe came off the back of a shells box and claims to be the "Best Ever Pasta Salad." I will let you decide:
INGREDIENTS:
1 16 oz. pkg of medium shells
2 c. cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 lb provolone cheese, cubed
1/2 lb salami, cubed
1/4 lb sliced pepperoni, cut in halves
1 green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 red bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 c. chopped green onions
1 (10 oz.) can sliced black olives
1 (4 oz.) jar of diced pimentos, drained
1 1/2 c. Italian salad dressing

1. Cook pasta as directed. Rinse in cold water to chill, drain.
2. In a large bowl, combine pasta with tomatoes, cheese, salami, pepperoni, peppers, onions, olives, and pimentos. Add salad dressing and toss to coat.

This card was a personal challenge to make something girly out of a very masculine set -- the new release from Hanna Stamps - Anthony! Perfect set for Fathers Day cards. If you order it ASAP, I am pretty sure Kristi is going to work her butt off to get it out to everyone before Fathers Day. This set came out last night at midnight, so it is brand spanking new. I thought, what is more girly than a pink sparkled cell phone. The layout for this was inkspired by the Mojo Monday sketch on Poetic Artistry.

Stamps: Hanna Stamps - Anthony, Karen Foster Designs Snap Stamps Paper: Pink Passion, Whisper White, Basic Black Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: Prismacolor pencils, black polka dot organdy, circle punches (SU), scalloped circle (Marvy), Creating Keepsakes Circle Cutter, Slit Punch (SU), White gel pen, Black gel pen, diamond stickles

Cute! I've been making this Pasta Salad for years (mine has sharp cheddar instead of provolone and more pepperoni instead of salami...and no pimentos). In fact...we just had it this weekend! Yummy! Balsamic Vinegar dressing adds a little more KICK!

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

Pinecone Balls Revisited

So lately I have been noticing that a lot of the traffic to my blog has been to the tutorial on how to make the pinecone balls that I put together about a year ago. SO, due to the increase in popularity, I thought I would get rid of some of my extra supplies on hand (because I made some already this year again and my fingers are sore enough) -- I have decided to giveaway a kit that contains enough supplies to make three balls. It features some great papers and ribbon and will be similar to the ones you may have seen at orientaltrading.com . I know it is not a huge giveaway, but I thought it would be fun! To enter, tell me what your favorite Christmas tradition is in the comments section of this post. I will draw a random winner on December 1st , so enter today!!! UPDATED: We have a WINNER -- Post number 44 was chosen using the random number generator and the winner is *drum roll please* Rosella said... WOW! I'd love to make some of these beautiful pinecones!
