SPIRAL WHISPER - Emily With Cake

I got new rubber yesterday (*YAY happy mail*) and I have been playing and coloring and having SO much fun! Okay, well actually mostly just stamping and coloring all these gorgeous images, but I will make them into cards at some point.

I made this card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge (TECC51). She had such a great sketch, perfect for SO many images. I also took this opportunity to use some of the Amy Butler paper I picked up at JoAnn's the other day! I loved the pads, but waited till they were on 40% off and then got them. I am so happy I did, the colors are AWESOME! Have I ever mentioned how much I *heart* Amy Butler fabric/paper? Gorgeous stuff!

This is an image called "Emily With Cake" by Spiral Whisper designed by Kate Smith. This is a new company I just discovered recently while blurfing and I fell in love with this Emily character. The dress is glittered using diamond stickles as you can see more clearly in the close up shot. I also put stickles on the cupcake and clear glossy accents on the balloon she is holding. Ooh, and I stitched around the Emily image in white to hold the whole card together. I thought it needed something subtle and this was the perfect little addition.

Stamps: Emily With Cake (Spiral Whisper), Family Phrases (SU!) Paper: Amy Butler Sola Mat Pad (K&Company), Old Olive (SU!), Confetti Cream (SU!), Almost Amethyst (SU!), Chocolate Chip (SU!), Solar Crest White (Neenah) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine Accessories: brown gingham ribbon, pink gingham ribbon (SU!), buttons, word window punch (SU!), sewing machine, brown thread, brown brads (Heidi Swapp), glossy accents (Ranger), diamond stickles (Ranger), copic ciao markers

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus).
