Something to Do on a Saturday . . .

We really bummed around this weekend. It felt good. Soccer is done! The kids spent a little quality time playing in the back yard (yep, still not finished, but soon, very soon I think - we actually have a plan now). I think they really needed some normal kid time.

We also went and watched M play amtgard (click on the link, I had no idea what it was either . . . ). He really likes going, he likes the exercise, the battling, the making of the "swords" and dressing up all dorky (well, I think it is dorky -hehe). M almost died of shock when I suggested he go this weekend, but seriously, he needed a de-stress time. Having a new baby in the house is hard work and sometimes you just need some play time.

Anyway, it was fun to watch and be outside with the kids. E and J had fun throwing pine cones down the hill and collecting them. It was funny because E used to be deathly afraid of pine cones and now they are no big deal. I can't believe how fast they are growing up. In fact, it is hard to believe, but the new baby is a month old as of tomorrow . . . swoosh, time flies. Here are some pictures of M sparring with some of the other dudes there . . .

That's cool :) I didn't know what amtgaurd was until about a week ago. There are always people playing it in the park here. I wondered what it was until I saw this article:

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus).
