Sketches, Sketches, Everywhere

If you are like me, you are a sucker for sketch challenges and it does not help that everyone has a sketch on their blog for you to try! There is always a sketch I am meaning to work on. Today I decided to pick a color scheme and create similar looking cards using four different sketches. The colors I used were: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Only Orange, Very Vanilla, and Ruby Red. Hope you like my little taste of fall. Sorry I have been MIA the past couple days, I have been trying to catch up on life . . . you know, the boring stuff like laundry and cleaning *sigh*

This third sketch was found at Poetic Artistry, where Julee shares a sketch weekly on Monday: (MOJO56)



And the 4th and final sketch was from Card Positioning Systems, where my friend Tami shares these amazingly awesome sketches each week: (CPS86) - Note: I turned this one because I wanted to end up with two tall cards and two short cards.

Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Timber Brown Staz On Accessories: Chocolate Gingham ribbon, sewing machine, brown thread, dimensionals, prima leaves, nestabilities (scalloped and plain circles), clear embossing powder, sponges, paper piercing tool, circle plastic canvas.

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). A good mail day

Yesterday was an awesome mail day! I got my swaps from Jody (texasjodylynn). Let me explain, each month, Jody and I swap three things -- cards, 3D objects (usually), and sometimes goodies we find that we think the other person might like. We have done this for about 6 months I think. Well yesterday I got the most amazing Jody package. Here are a few pictures of the stuff inside. The chocolate box was made with designer paper and said "You make life sweet" on top and inside there were some yummy dove chocolates. Seriously, dark chocolate is the BEST! Next I found this most gorgeous purse with some treasures inside it. Some gems and some princess brads, and a harry potter bookmark. The purse itself is amazing. I asked Jody how she did it and she said with chalk and craft inks and lots of embossing powder. It just shines. It is just so amazing. She put in so many brads and she said she even had to use a drill on it. Amazing! I avoid scary tools like drills wher...
