PREVIEW: Fun In the Sun II

Wednesday ALREADY??? Yikes, time is just flying by -- good because the new release of Hanna Stamps and the Release Party are tomorrow!!!! YAY!

On to today's card -- Poor Hanna, sand on the towel is the worst, so she must shake it out so she can relax on the beach! Her arm just kind of looked like that is what she could be doing, so I went with it. Maybe I have been sniffing too much solvent. *giggles*

I had fun with paper piecing on this one - on both her bikini and the towel. I wish you could see the stripes more on the background, but when I put it all together, that is not how things worked out.

I made her goggles using a couple of clear dew drops. Hanna is colored using prismacolor pencils and sansodor. I have had a couple of you ask what this is . . . it is "low odour solvent for oil color" - Product Made by Windsor & Newton. It is a blending medium similar to gamsol, which blends the colored pencil together to create a smooth finish. It also allows you to shade nicely. Are you getting excited for the release party yet? Have you completed your color challenge early so you have a chance to win a free Hanna set??? There are two regular size sets and two mini sets this release, so it is a great time to win-- Lots to choose from!

Stamps: Hanna Fun in the Sun Paper: Prism Vibrant Pink, Iced Azalea, SU Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, DCWV Pink Stripe (OS-003-00076) Ink: Memories Black Dye Ink Accessories: Clear Dew Drops by The Robin's Nest, Prismacolor Pencils, Sansodor, Blending Stumps, White brads, Singer Sewing Machine, brown thread.

Your card is adorable. I love the colors, the way that you have her shaking sand off of her towel and making her glasses look 3-D.Wonderful work on your card. Oh one important thing. I *love* that you used the paper piecing technique on her bathing suit. paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques. I use it frequently.I am so glad that I found your blog.

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus).
