PREVIEW: Fun in the Sun Hanna

This is such a fun set. I giggle every time my daughter refers to it cause she calls it "kini Hanna" -- I have had so much fun stamping with it. And the best news of the day is that on Thursday night we are going to have a RELEASE PARTY in the Hanna Stamps Forum on Splitcoaststampers and YOU ARE INVITED!!! I hope you can be there because at the end of all the chatter, giggles and stamping, you can purchase this and some other awesome sets that I will show you samples from all this week! YAY!!! Even if you don't own any Hanna's or Riley's or Sophie's yet, come play with us and find out what it's all about!!! I bet you'll have a blast if you do.

This Hanna was colored for my daughter, she said she wanted her to have a purple kini, so I did it. I tried lots of new things on this card -- I did some paper tole, I popped up her face, and parts of the boom box. I used silver leafing pen on the boom box to make it metallic (although this week at the store I found a silver prismacolor pencil, so I will be using that method from now on since it is WAY easier and less goopy -- much simpler to do details).

Hanna was colored using prismacolor pencils and sansodor. The pink paper, you may have noticed, is not an SU color -- it is from Prism Papers and the color is called "Frosted Azalea." Super pretty color! The "Let's Party" sentiment came from a small stamp set I bought in Michael's dollar acrylic stamps bin. I layered it on a circle of lovely lilac and added a stripe to mimic the stripe in her bikini. I added glitter on her sunglasses and a bow in her hair to hold her pony tail because she is a girlie girl! I thought her pose looked like she was dancing on the beach, so I went with that -- groovy! Hope you like her!!!

I was not familiar with Hanna Stamps, but you make them look like such fun! I will have to check them out. Lovely coloring job! I still haven't tried my Prismacolors, because I can't find the stuff to use with them. What is sansodor?

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus). Stamps : For the Soul (Hanna Stamps), "God Bless" sentiment by American Art Stamp Paper: Lily Kate - Basic Grey, Neenah Solar White, SU vellum card stock, SU Whisper White Ink : Onyx Black Versafine Accessories : Sheer 5/8th Inch organdy ribbon, Nestabilities (Circle and scalloped circle), sewing machine, white thread, circle of plastic canvas, copic markers, white brads, paper piercing ...

My Decade Later Comeback and Playing Catch Up

Hello friends, It's been awhile and I kind of dropped off the face of the planet since moving to Oregon. I got busy with growing four babies into teens, and attempting to hold together a marriage with a partner who was working out of town for the most part. It was a lot! Truth be told, I have been spending most of my time over on Instagram which allows for more quick picture and caption posts (@the.amanda.sewell), but I really, genuinely miss having a journal of our adventures, so I'm back.  Some changes, my ex-partner moved out in October of 2023 (after 23 years of marriage, who would have thought?) and I am on a new, single mom adventure with the fabulous four. Luckily, they are adjusting to the changes well as we navigate this challenging time as a family team. Things are still in flux and hopefully at the end of all of this, the dust will settle and we will end up landing on our feet. Because of this change, I needed to go back to work and after not working for the past lo...
