A Little Penny Black Cow Action

I absolutely love this little cow and since I bought her, I have had this idea in my head to make a little lemonade card to send to a friend.

The colors I chose (which are kind of hard to see because it did not photograph well), are certainly celery, yo yo yellow and pink passion. I watercolored the cow in using the tops of my ink pads and an aquapainter pen. The scalloped piece is glossy paper, colored on with a white crayon to create resist, and then sponged colors on top. The word "sweet" from SU's "Sweet Spot" was stamped randomly across the bottom of the card in pink passion. The celery ribbon was purchased at Michaels. The pink ribbon on the inside with stitching is also from there, but was one of those little spool ones. The yellow ribbon came from there too, but was one of their cheaper kinds of ribbon. The ribbons at the top are attached to a tag on the inside.

The tag is stamped with a sentiment from SU! I thought the tag could serve as a perfect little bookmark for that summer book you plan to read on the beach. The other side of the pouch contains a lemonade packet. I think this would be a cute summer card to send a friend. It would sure brighten their day. I am pleased with the results. Hope you like my little cow too.

Edited to add: A lot of people have asked me where this little cow came from, and I am not sure exactly, but I have found her and all sorts of other ones here: Addicted to Rubber Stamps (Penny Black Cheers). I am in no way responsible for this small amount of enabling! ENJOY!!!

HANNA PREVIEW: For the Soul

This set is totally cool! I have not seen anything like it! I think it is perfect for a sympathy card, a thinking of you, a little hand out at church, maybe even for cards at Easter (thinking ahead here) etc. It is so CUTE! Hanna looks so angelic and well, to be completely honest, reminds me of my little sister (not sure why). I used the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (#83) for the layout. I was going for a "touched by an angel" look on the main image (and I think I kind of created that.) I used vellum to overlay the image to give it that glossy fuzz (soft focus).
